We’re Hiring: Studio System Administrator

ALT Systems, a national systems provider for the Media & Entertainment industry, is recruiting qualified applicants for a Managed Services position as a Studio Systems Administrator. This is an onsite, full-time technical support job on behalf of a major Silicon Valley technology company that creates multi-platform content for apps, gaming, music, movies, and TV.

This position is responsible for designing, deploying, and managing scalable rendering solutions on AWS EC2 infrastructure. You’ll be backed up by an experienced staff of ALT Systems engineers, technicians, and project managers dedicated to delivering world-class managed services on behalf of one of Silicon Valley’s biggest content creators.

Key Qualifications and responsibilities:

• 5+ years in a similar position.
• Deep understanding of rendering technologies and workflows.
• Extensive experience with Amazon Web Services, including EC2, S3, VPC, IAM roles/policies, CloudWatch monitoring, and security best practices.
• Strong proficiency in Python programming for automation, scripting, and backend development.
• Proven track record designing high-performance computing environments optimized for rendering tasks.
• Support of high-performance video-specific infrastructure systems in an enterprise CG Studio.
• Knowledge of high performance SAN environments.
• Knowledge of rendering tools including VRay, Mantra, Redshift and Deadline.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation for system architecture, configurations, and operational procedures.
• Ongoing interaction with end users and support personnel to ensure the best possible customer experience.

Successful candidates also will have:

• Excellent oral and written communication skills to collaborate effectively within technical teams.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex distributed systems.
• Ability to effectively manage time and workload priorities to meet tight deadlines.
• A positive, solution-oriented attitude.
• A BS degree in either CS/CE, Communications, or equivalent experience.

This is an exempt individual contributor position requiring the ability to sit, stand, speak, hear, see, operate a computer keyboard and mouse, and lift up to 50 pounds.
